The School Council are a team of pupils who were elected democratically by their classmates. The children who were interested wrote speeches. The job description was simple. They are there to listen, be kind and easy to talk to.
The council meets every other Monday to give feedback from their classmates regarding their concerns or ideas for their school.
Mrs Pollock takes any points raised in the meetings to the higher powers in the school or Governing body.
The School Council is extremely important. It provides a voice for the children to share their views and thoughts about their school community.
The children can share their views in class or write a note for the post boxes outside the classrooms (these are checked regularly).
This term, we also have a focus on connections. We have put little signs up in school to remind children that making new friends and talking to children from other classes is healthy, we all have something in common – our fantastic school!
