Stephen is a Chartered Accountant and an alumnus of the London Business School. He joined Peat Marwick Mitchell (now KPMG) in 1978 and over the course of his professional career gained a wide range of business consulting experience.

Stephen was made an equity partner at KPMG in 1990 and, in addition to his client work, he held several senior UK positions within the firm, including Head of Consulting for the Financial Services Practice.

Stephen retired from KPMG in 2009 and subsequently built a portfolio of activities including his own consulting business, Member of Council at the University of Reading (where he was Chairman of the Audit Committee and a member of the Strategy & Finance Committee)) and a volunteer at Wandsworth Prison.

Stephen is married with three grown-up children. He has lived in Ramsbury for nearly twenty years and is involved in several local charities including Ramsbury Pre-School, ATE, Ramsbury Community Transport and the Holy Cross Church.
