The PTA
About the PTA
Ramsbury Parent Teacher Association (PTA) is a registered charity made up of parents and staff, whose main purpose is to fund raise for additional activities and equipment for the children.
A meeting is held at the beginning of the academic year where the fundraising project for the year is decided. This could for example be play equipment or enrichment activities and determines the amount that needs to be raised. In previous years we have raised in the region of a fantastic £10,000!
Fundraising activities include:
- Halloween stall
- Letters to Father Christmas
- Christmas Fayre
- Pop up ice cream stall
- School discos
- Fun run
- Summer Fete
- Silent Auction
Last year, the PTA raised £10,000 for playground markings.
Ways you can help
- Donate your time and expertise – please let your class reps know if you think you have skills we may be able to benefit from
- Check back on this page regularly to get involved in PTA fundraising activities.
Class Reps
Each year parents are asked to volunteer to be class reps who help enormously with the functioning of the PTA and assist in communicating key information to the class.
Corporate Charity Match Funding
Many UK companies will match any donation their employees make to a registered charity. For example, they may match the amount that an employee has raised by running a cake stall for the school.
Please contact us if you would like to find out more.
The Ramsbury School Development Trust (RSDT)
About the RSDT
The Ramsbury School Development Trust (RSDT) is a charity established 20 years ago with the objective of supporting the provision of high quality education in the school and investment in the learning environment, over and above that provided through government funding.
We are different from the PTA in that we ask parents to make regular donations while their child is at school (or a single donation). This provides a steady income stream on a longer term basis and has enabled us to help with many projects over the years such as:
- The computer suite
- Laptops for all classes
- Our Great New Space
- Extra curricular activities
- DT launch visits to Harry Potter World (KS2) & Legoland (KS1)
- Interactive whiteboards in all classes
- Kitchen/resource room refurbishment
Without RSDT support the school would not have been able to provide the breadth and quality of education and resources that the children currently enjoy. Please support the provision of high quality education at Ramsbury Primary School by completing our regular donation form or single donation form. You can also make payments via the Parent Portal.

Donations
The RSDT primarily raises funds through regular donations from parents, which enable the Trustees to plan ahead, confident of a reasonably guaranteed income stream for the school. We ask all parents, if they can afford it, to consider becoming a regular donor to the RSDT for the duration of their child’s time at the school. Donations can be made for any amount per month and it is surprising how much even a small regular donation mounts up.
In addition, as the RSDT is a charity, the RSDT can claim Gift Aid on these donations from UK taxpayers. This significantly increases the benefit to the school at no extra cost to the donor, as shown below:
Monthly amount | Annual amount | Over 7 years | With Gift Aid |
£5 per month | £60 per annum | £420 | £525 |
£10 per month | £120 per annum | £840 | £1050 |
£20 per month | £240 per annum | £1680 | £2100 |
If you do not feel able to make a regular donation to the RSDT, you can make a single donation at any time. To make a single donation, please complete this form.
